There’s not many Chinese dishes that don’t include bean sprouts. But have you ever wondered how easy or hard it is to grow them? Why not join us this year with a Bean Sprout growing challenge?

In as little as 10 days
From opening the pack to planting you should have bean sprouts ready to eat in about 10 days! You can almost visibly see them grow, we think this is sure way to get your children to try to grow them and it will encourage any reluctant child to try eat them too. For those watching their calorie intake post-Christmas, the good news it there’s just 31 calories in a cup and they offer a good source of fibre too.
Finally – you will be all set for the Chinese new year too.
We’ve set our seeds growing, please unwrap yours and give them a wash and sew them on kitchen roll or a cloth (when you receive them). Then we all keep our fingers, continue to water them and look forward to the harvest in 10 days time.
We used a Steamer insert to grow ours and a saucepan lid to cover them
